Training
Obedience
Is the foundation of developing and owning a great dog. When you trust your dog to us for obedience training, they will be trained on leash and off leash to walk “at heal” next to you, to come to you when you call him and the dog will also be taught the “sit” command. We ask that you also come out and train the dog with us so that you are comfortable with all the commands and expectations placed on your dog.

Intermediate Gun Dog
Intermediate Gun Dog training we start to teach the dogs the foundation of casting and more complex retrieves. This dog will do "blind retrieves" and will be able to compete at the Seasoned/Senior hunt test level.
These are some of the drills done to teach your dog
-
3 handed casting (teaches the dog to turn the direction of which you pointed)
-
T-work (teaches the dog to take the cast at a distance)
-
Wagon Wheel (Used to teach the dog to move with you at your side using the command here and heal to move the dog toward you and away from you.)
-
Swim By (Used to teach the dog to cast in the water and helps the dog be comfortable casting around and treading water.)
Advanced Gun Dog Train
Advanced Gun Dog training is for the person that wants the best hunting dogs in his group, period.
This dog will be ready to retrieve a bird that he never saw go down. This is accomplished by giving the “sit whistle” and using hand signals which tells the dog to change directions whichever way you point your hands. He will be able to retrieve birds over 200 yards if necessary for your buddies that sail birds.
This dog will be comfortable hunting the Mississippi River to the pot holes of North Dakota and everything in between. Your dog will be a retrieving machine and be able to compete at both the Hunting Retriever Champion (HRCH) and the Master Hunter (MH) levels. Your dog’s abilities will be methodically refined and finely tuned. At this level, he or she will be “Hard Core”.
